Self-deceptions

Self-deception is persona forgetfulness

It is explicitly not intentional

A persona is a role that a person plays as virtually a different person across roles.

Self-deceptions are expression of contradictory beliefs in one person, i.e., happen in relation to different persona in one person where the self-deceiving persona is at the time of the self-deception at least partially unaware of the other persona's reality insofar it is contrary to the self-deceptive content.

In the case of psychological dissociation the unawareness of another persona is often so complete that persona remain fully unaware of each other.

Yet, interpersona unawareness is normal if it is temporary. The suspension of awareness is necessary to be immersed in a highly functional role. One has to forget about one's other roles. To pull oneself out of any specific persona forgetfulness requires switching personas, which requires a persona-switching persona.
