Jordan Peterson — Is Reality an Illusion? | Dr. Donald Hoffman | EP 387

The intersubjective theater of deep-order nonsense

That, why and how something exists utterly contradicts the issue of what it is, for those supposedly broader (supposedly cosmological, ontological, and epistemological) questions are the abysmally duplicitous esoterically mystical "complexity" constructs of incompleteness that mirror the "complexity" of human fallacy, self-deception, farce, and psychosis that power and autocracy necessarily feed on. The point is that the psyche, namely the comprehensively pragmatic constitution of the mind, is an intersubjective theater of nonsense orders deeper than the more ancient nonsense of the soul.

The Peircean error is the idea that the sign exists and that it exists triadically (as icon, index, and symbol) as a kind of pragmatic shorthand to explain the so-called meaning of existence. Peirce denies what things are. My conclusion is that everything, including icons and indices, are symbols. Icons are not in any way pictorial representations or indices motivational representations, or that anything at all is a representation of anything other than what it is. The thing is itself the thing. And everything ultimately always is the symbol (word). The error that follows logically from that is invariably the idea that my point is that the word that everything is is then the base cosmological substance. It is the error of what the "infinity" is that such absolute substance is and incredibly who it is with, who has it, and who does it. It is the basis of the nonsense that we in relation to IT are incomplete, that we are, have, and do in terms of our souls or psyches, in that we are kind of lesser iconic or indexical caricatures of Him (the soul to God) or It (the psyche to The Psyche —the technocratic hidden or virtual meta or x, the matrix—i.e., as facts, science, truth, reality).

"Work," "change," and "causality" are things. They are not some deeper truth beyond things.
