Synth Midi Controller Setup: Roli, Hydrasynth and Keylab 61 If the Roli plugs in well to the Hydra module with MPE, it may be way better than the keyboard ribbon (and keyboard aftertouch) of the Hydra keyboard. What makes the Roli ideal in my setup is that it is so flat (0.9 inches high vs the 2.1 of the mkii). I plan to buy the Hydrasynth module and Roli (hopefully not discontinued) to complement my Arturia Keylab mkii midi controller in Ableton Live 11 (with mpe). As I sit in front of it, the mkii keybed would be an inch higher than a standard piano keybed, with the Roli keybed tight up against the front of it at the height of the lowest point of the mkii's key-travel, so my knees could go underneath the Roli (because it is so flat), both mounted on the same thin hard steel plate. The Roli 49 and Keylab 61 mkii are just under 33 and over 34 inches wide respectively, and there's just under 56 inches of width, so the Hydrasynth and another module (maybe Deepmind 12) could go to their right preferably, but maybe their left, at about 10 degrees up-down front to back and angled about 5 degrees inward, slightly in front of the mkii. |
